Design Wall Monday, November 22

My name is Olivia, and my mom quilts a lot, so I am learning to quilt, too.

This is a picture of the quilt I'm working on now.

It is a Disappearing 9-patch quilt.

I have been working on this quilt for a long time and I'm really getting tired of it!  Since I have all these new projects that I want to work on.

Be sure and visit Judy to see what everyone else is working on.

  1. Hang in there, Olivia! Wouldn't it be fun to cuddle up with this on Christmas morning?! I love your fabric choice! :)

  2. Very cute! Great idea to use the red for the centre block, which ends up to be the small squares once you cut the blocks!

  3. My daughter made her first quilt by herself this past weekend. Hang in there....it is a life long addiction :)

  4. Keep plugging away at it. Maybe you can listen to a book on cd while you are sewing. I find that keeps my brain entertained while my hands sew -- especially when sewing rows together.

I love this fabric and it is making a great looking disappearing 9 patch.

  6. Very pretty! Yes, in quilting you find there are a lot of steps before a finish, but keep plugging away and you will get there.

  8. I've loved the disappearing nine patch pattern but have yet to make one myself. Your fabrics sure make it fun and happy :)

  9. The colors are beautiful. If you are having a hard time finishing it, maybe you should give yourself permission to work on something new, after you've worked on this quilt for 15 minutes. I've finished a couple of projects I'd gotten tired of that way.

  10. You are doing a really nice job Olivia, I like the colors you have chosen. It will be worth the work when it is all done and you are warm and snuggly under it.
